Influenster is a program that sends free products in exchange for honest reviews.
How It Works:
When you first join Influenster, you will need to complete a series of questionnaires. These surveys help Influenster to match you with products and brands that are a good match. Influenster puts a strong focus on social media and you are scored on your social “impact.” Your impact score is determined by the number of followers you have on different social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and Youtube. You can also increase your impact score by connecting your blog and inviting friends to join.
Aside from your social impact score, you can also increase your chances of being asked to join a campaign by completing “snaps” (small surveys about your hobbies, likes/dislikes, habits) when they are available. You can also review a variety of products through Influenster. Those reviews are also a big factor in whether or not you will be chosen for upcoming campaigns. I try to log in each week and do at least 5-10 reviews.
When you are chosen for a campaign, you will receive an email letting your know. You won’t know what specific products you are receiving though. Once you receive your “voxbox” you will need to do a series of activities to earn “badges.” For example, you may be asked to post a phone of your Influenster box on Instagram or tweet about one of the products. The more activities you complete, the greater the likelihood of getting asked to do more in the future.
The big thing about Influenster is honesty. Brands need your honest feedback o if you don’t like a product, it’s ok to
I received the Influenster “Jingle Vox Box.” Here are the products that I received along with a review of each item:
Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream ($8.99): This cream is really thick but it absorbs very quickly. This is the perfect cream for those dry areas like elbows and ankles. Plus it’s winter which means my skin is very dry, so I know I’ll use this jar up in no time!
Biscoff Cookies ($2.99 ea.): These cookies are slightly sweet with a hint of almond flavor. They are the perfect snack with a hot cup of coffee or hot chocolate.
Ore-Ida Tater Tots ($3.99): Influenster sent us a coupon for a free bag of tater tots. These are perfect for just snacking or as a quick side side for dinner. Plus if you check out Pinterest, there are now all kinds of casseroles and other dishes made from tater tots!
NYC City Proof 24HR Waterproof Eyeliner ($3.99): This eyeliner is super black and is glides on very smoothly. I also found the lasting power to be awesome. It does blend easily for a smokey effect as well.
KISS True Volume Lashes ($3.99) & KISS Strip Lash Adhesive with Aloe ($3.99): These lashes are va-va-voom! I don’t wear false lashes much these days but these will be nice for a special occassion. I tend to cut my lashes down and use them at the outer corners of my eyes. This lash adhesive is great too. It’s black so it blends in well with the lashes and does not leave any white gooey residue like other adhesives I’ve tried.
Pure Ice Nail Polish ($1.97): I received this polish in the shade home run. It’s a bit of a spring shade in my opinion but I really like the color. It’s unlike any other shade that I own. this polish is exclusive to Walmart. It’s also made without formaldehyde, toulene, or DBP. This line offers a variety of trendy colors and nail effects like glitters and iridescent pearl shades.
Verdict: This box had tons of goodies that were perfect for the holiday season. I love the mix of products as well.
