Little Lace Box February 2015

Little Lace Box is a monthly lifestyle subscription service. Monthly boxes include beauty and fashion items. One up and coming designer is highlighted each month as well. Little Lace Box has only been around for less than a year but seems to quickly becoming one of the most popular subscriptions out there,

Cost: $39.99/monthly

Each box comes with a letter from the founders of LLB explaining the theme of the box and some insight to why these products were chosen for this month. For February, the letter states that because of the California dockworkers’ strike, many of the originally planned items did not make it into the box this month. In order to give their vendors time to catch up due to LLB’s recent growth, new subscription sign up will be suspended for March. I will update as soon as subscriptions are available.

On the back of the letter is an overview of each product in the box with a description and value information.
Pink Arrow Stationary by P. Press Papers (Value $12.99):

This stationary is adorable. The cards are flat with pink stripes on the back. The envelopes included are plain brown. I’ll admit, I do not mail personal cards very often so I think these will either be used in my Project Life albums or possibly for recipe cards!
Tub Truffles by CeeCee&Bee (Value $18.99):
I could smell these as soon as I opened by box and it was delightful! I love taking baths and have a small obsession with bubble bath and bath bombs. These are completely natural and perfect for those with sensitive skin. You crumble one truffle under running bath water and enjoy!
Original Goat Milk Hot Fudge by Beekman 1802 (Value $12.99):
The jar says fudge sauce but the description says that this can be eaten straight from the jar with a spoon! I have not tried this yet but will definitely be digging into this soon. From what I have seen on other pages, a variety of this fudge was sent out. Some folks have gotten the orange zest variety and I hear there is a coffee flavor as well.
Stud Earrings by Whitley Design (Value$54.99):
These stud earrings are precious. I have a lot of dangly earrings and am always looking for simple, pretty studs for every day wear. These are perfect for casual wear. Note: Little Lace Box does accomodate subscribers that do not wear earrings. This month, a bracelet was sent out in place of earrings for those people that indicated they did not want earrings. I have also seen other people who got delicate gold hoops instead of the heart studs so I think this item will vary from box to box.

Hula Bliss Goat Milk Lotion in Dancin’ Goat (Value Unknown):
I like the smell of this hand lotion. You can never have enough lotion! I will probably keep this in my desk drawer at work. With winter winding down, my hands do always feel dry so this is a good item for me.
Verdict: The total value of this box is about $100 (that does not include the lotion since I could not locate a price for it.) This was a great box for me. Most of these products are brand new to me and I will definitely put them to use. I feel like the box was curated wonderfully and a lot of thought was put into this month’s selections.
March’s box is “Here Comes the Sun.” What do you think will be included in the box next month?

Wantable Intimate Monthly Box Febuary 2015

Wantable offers four different monthly subscription boxes: Intimates, Accessories, Beauty, and Fitness.

Cost: $36/monthly ($40 for your first box)

This is my first Intimates box from Wantable. With Wantable, you fill out a customization profile to indicate your likes and dislikes. Categories for this box include bras, panties, shapewear, socks, lingerie/sleepwear, leggings, and hosiery. You will not receive any item in your box that you have selected as a dislike. Each item is personally selected by one of their staff stylists based on your profile. You can update your profile at any time.

Fancy Free Bra in Rose (Value $32): This bra is very feminine and pretty. The lace detail along the bottom is flirty and fun. I typically prefer lighter colored bras and this classic pink rose color is perfect for me. I ordered this in a size 40D and found that it is slightly large. I think I could have gone to a 36 or 38 and it would have fit perfectly. The bra did come with an adjustment piece to make it larger as well.

Spring Fling Top in Aruba from Per Lei Intimates (Value $16):
Spring Fling Bottoms in Aruba from Per Lei Intimates (Value $16):

This pajama set is adorable! The bottoms are capris and they are thin so they will be perfect for spring and summer.

I love the feminine detail of the tiny bows on the sleeves off the top. Just such a pretty, fun pajama set. I can’t wait until it warms up so I can wear them!

Verdict: I am very happy with this box. The total value is $64 which makes the monthly cost worth it. I will probably update my profile soon so that I can remove bras. I think for now I would prefer to receive pajamas and underwear. I will definitely continue this subscription. It’s a high value box and all of the items will be used.
Have you tried Wantable? What was your experience like?

Sample Society February 2015

This was my first month for Sample Society and I was super excited when my glossy red box arrived!

Sample Society is a monthly beauty subscription box from BeautyBar.com and Allure Magazine. The sample sizes tend to be deluxe and many of the monthly samples are high end brands.

Monthly Cost: $15

Like many other subscription boxes, Sample Society offers a mini magazine that details each product in the box and offers insight to why each product was chosen.
nugg Facial Masks in Deep Cleansing, Revitalizing, & Hydrating (Value $9.87): These masks are awesome. They do not dry completely on your face so they don’t crack and flake like typical mud masks. They give a soothing, tingly feeling while they work. So far I have used two of them and they really do feel great and leave my face feeling smooth and clean.
Strivectin Intensive Illumiating Serum .25 fl oz (Value $22.25): I have been using this for a few days and I haven’t noticed a lot of improvement. However, I imagine it will take a few weeks to see any change. Fortunately, this sample is good size and I think it will last long enough to determine if it works.
Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush 50 mL (Value $1.75): I have tried this dry shampoo before and am happy to have more. I have fine hair and this helps to skip a shampoo while also adding a bit of volume at my roots. This scent is pretty strong however and that is the only issue I have with the product.
Nails Inc Polish in Princes Palace Full Size (Value $9)
Chloe Love Story Perfume .04 oz (Value $3)
I love the color of this nail polish. The detailed mini magazine suggests using it with a matte topcoat. I think it will be great for spring and plan to use it soon.
I am not a fan of perfume samples because I find I often put them away and forget to ever use them. I did test this one out when I opened the box and I actually did like it. It is a little strong but I tend to enjoy stronger perfumes.
Verdict: The overall value of this box is approximately $45 so I am happy with that. I would have liked to have seen some more high end brands (Batiste can be found at the drug store.) I do love getting full size nail polishes and I have wanted to test out that Strivectin serum as well. I will stick with Sample Society though to see how it fairs each other.

Review: PetBox Monthly Subscription

We have three dogs, two bloodhounds and a pit bull terrier. I am also looking for new treats and toys that they will love.

I recently purchased a PetBox monthly subscription from Groupon. I paid $11.99 for this one time purchase. PetBox offers boxes curated for both cats and dogs.  We also have two cats so I may consider getting another box for them.

PetBox offers several different subscription options ranging from $9.95 to $59.95 a month, depending on how many items you would like to receive each month.

With this Groupon purchase, I had the option of either receiving a surprise box or choosing the items that I would receive. I chose to pick out my items. With my purchase, I was given 400 “points” to use on items ranging from toys to treats to grooming products.  I was able to pick out three items and I still have 20 points leftover to use on my next purchase.

My box shipped within a day of my purchase and was delivered within a week so I was really happy about that.

Jolly Bone- 6 inch (Retail Value: $6.21): This bone is sturdy nylon that reminds me of Kong toys. It claims to be durable for powerful biters. One of our Bloodhounds is a puppy and this will be perfect for her since she is at that stage where she wants to chew on everything.

It’s Purely Natural Pure Beef Jerky Bars (Retail Value $6.01): I love that these treats are 100% real beef and that they are made in the U.S. The bag is resealable as well. I gave one of these to our older Bloodhound and she loved it!
Yummy Paws PB & Hint O’Honey treats (Retail Value $5): These treats are full of protein and healthy fatty oils to help maintain a healthy heart and a shiny coat. The product also claims that the honey improves your dog’s digestion, helps with allergies, and increases stamina. There are a lot of treats in this bag so I feel like this product has a great value.
Verdict: This box has a total retail value of $17.22 so I feel like this Groupon buy was a great deal. Our pups will love all of the treats and the toy will hopefully keep the puppy happy (and our furniture bite-free!) This is a subscription I will give some serious thought to buying on a monthly basis.
What are your thoughts? Have you tried PetBox before? Do you plan on subscribing in the future?

Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant Review

I am a Bzz Agent and recently received Dove’s new Dry Spray Antiperspirant to review. Along with a bottle of the Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant, I received a coupon for another free bottle of either Dove Women’s, Dove Men’s, Degree Women’s, Degree Men’s, or Axe Dry Spray. This coupon can be used at any Kroger or Kroger Co. store.

I was super excited about this Bzz campaign. I have always loved Dove’s products. I feel that they are high quality and very reasonably priced. However, I have been using this spray for about a week now and I’m not too impressed.
Pros:
  • The spray dries quickly. No flapping your arms around like a lunatic while waiting for it to dry.
  • The spray is cool and refreshing when it goes on so I imagine it would feel great on those hot, humid days.
  • The smell is nice and fresh. I believe this also comes in a cucumber melon scent but I don’t like fragrant deodarants.
  • It goes on invisible so no white streaks on your shirt.
Cons:
  • The bottle says this is good for a full 48 hours but I find that hard to believe. After a long day of shopping during a mild January day, I can’t say I really felt fresh. Not to say I had any odor but I just did not feel completely protected.
  • The directions say you need one spray but I feel you really need at least two to be protected all day.
I used my free coupon and picked up a bottle of the Degree Dry Spray Deodarant. I will do a review of this product later to see if it’s any better or worse than Dove. Degree offers this in a scent called “Energy” as well but like I said, I don’t care for strongly perfumed deodorant.
VERDICT: While I love Dove products, this one just didn’t do it for me. I will be sticking with my regular deodorant.
Side note: If you are interested in testing out new products, check out BzzAgent. All you need to do is sign up, fill out your profile, and complete some surveys. Once you are selected for a campaign, you will just need to provide feedback via Facebook, Twitter, your blog, online reviews, etc.
